Cancellation Policies

Think bad weather and finishing the job early

Idle Australia allows equipment lessors to choose a cancellation policy that most appropriately reflects their business requirements and all listings displayed on our site will clearly indicate the cancellation policy selected.

Full refund one day (24 hours) prior to start of hire date, less service fees

Before
Hire Date

For a refund of equipment fees, the cancellation must be made 1 day prior to a confirmed booking's pickup time on the start date of hire.

During
A Lease

If a lessee cancels a confirmed booking at any point, the following 1 day of paid equipment fees are non refundable.

Early
Finish

If the lessee finishes with the equipment and cancels early, equipment fees proceeding a 1 day period will be fully refunded.

For a refund of equipment fees, the cancellation must be made 7 day prior to a confirmed booking's pickup time on the start date of hire.

During
A Lease

If a lessee cancels a confirmed booking at any point, the following 7 day of paid equipment fees are non refundable.

Early
Finish

If the lessee finishes with the equipment and cancels early, equipment fees proceeding a 7 day period will be fully refunded.

We’ll automatically deduct any applicable cancellation fees from your next payout. Your first cancellation as a lessor will not include a cancellation fee.

FIRST CANCELLATION

The cancellation fee will be waived for your first cancellation within your first 6-month period.

MORE THAN 7 DAYS BEFORE PICKUP

For every cancellation outside your first 6-month period, you’ll be charged a $50 fee.

For any confirmed booking cancelled within 7 days of pickup, you’ll be charged a $100 fee.

Other Penalties

Automated Reviews

An automatic review will be added to your profile.

Blocked To Hire

You equipment will be unable to receive bookings during the days you cancel.

Important

  • The idle Australia service fee is non-refundable.
  • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to Idle Australia within 24 hours of the pickup time on the start date of hire.
  • Bookings are officially cancelled when a lessee gives notice to Idle Australia and the lessor in writing.
  • Idle Australia will mediate where necessary, and has final say in all disputes.
  • Cancellation policies can be superseded by our Terms of Service, extenuating circumstances or cancellations by Idle Australia for any other reason.
  • Applicable taxes will be retained and remitted.
